TIM LORENTZÉN NAMED BEST COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHER – ROYGALA 2023

 

We are thrilled to share that for the second year in a row Director of Photography Tim Lorentzén won Best Commercial Photographer at Roygala 2023! This year for his work on Expedia “Lemons”, “Plates”, and “Nothing”. Congratulations, Tim!

The jury’s justification: This year’s best advertising film photographer has shown an exceptional ability to create striking image compositions that evoke emotions in the viewer. With a world-class eye for detail, a sensibility for lighting and with the courage to break the norm for how images should be composed in commercials, he has succeeded in creating visual art of plates, silence and lemons. Without even moving the camera.

DGC AWARDS – BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN

The Director’s Guild of Canada announced the winners of their 22nd Annual DGC Awards on October 21st.

Peter Cosco was awarded Best Production Design – Feature Film for his work on the Academy Award-winning film WOMEN TALKING, directed by Sarah Polley.

WOMEN TALKING lead the nominations in the feature film category and won for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in a Feature Film, Editing – Feature Film, and Sound Editing – Feature Film.

This is Cosco’s third DGC nomination for Production Design, and his first win! Congratulations!

IndieWire’s Oscar Cinematography Survey

IndieWire recently featured an article on the cinematography of 32 films that have made an impact this award season. Three of our clients were featured:

Christopher Blauvelt shot Todd Hayne’s new film MAY DECEMBER which premieres on Netflix November 17th, 2023.

Franz Lustig shot the critically acclaimed PERFECT DAYS, by the legendary director Wim Wenders, submitted by Japan as their selection for the best international feature film category of the 96th Academy Awards.

Matías Pennachino shot CASSANDRO for Oscar-winning director Roger Ross Williams, currently available on Prime.

THE BURIAL – COMING TO THEATERS

From director Maggie Betts, THE BURIAL is a legal drama, based on true events.

Willie E. Gary (Jaime Foxx) is a smooth-talking, unconventional litigator who gets results. When a corporate giant tries to take over a family run funeral home, its patriarch Jeremiah O’Keefe (Tommy Lee Jones) engages Gary’s services in a story about race, power, and injustice.

Jay Cassidy, ACE edited the film.

Catch it in select theaters October 6th, or streaming via Prime Video on October 13, 2023.
