TRIBECA 2023 – MAESTRA

MAESTRA, from first-time director Maggie Contreras, “follows several women from around the world as they compete in the only all-women competition for conductors … through her efforts in profiling these women, Contreras reveals how childhood abuse, maternity discrimination, and gendered expectations have molded them as individuals.”

The new documentary – edited by Red Wolf Films’ Elisa Bonora, ACE, Finola Couling, and Rupert Hall – recently took the Second Place Audience Award in the Documentary category at the Tribeca Film Festival 2023.
