NATIONAL ANTHEM – NOW IN THEATERS

NATIONAL ANTHEM gallops into theaters today, released by Variance Films!

Directed by Luke Gilford in his feature-length debut, the film follows Dylan, a 21-year-old who lives in rural New Mexico and works as a construction worker to help support his little brother and alcoholic mother. Amidst his chaotic family life, he finds a second home after joining a community of queer ranchers and rodeo performers.

Charlie Plummer stars as ‘Dylan’, with Eve Lindley, Mason Alexander Park, and Robyn Lively supporting. “National Anthem” was inspired by Gilford’s monograph, titled National Anthem: America’s Queer Rodeo. 

Emily Batson designed the costumes for the film, which first premiered as part of the 2023 SXSW Film Festival, and later premiered internationally at TIFF 2023. The film recently had its first European premiere as part of the 32nd Raindance Film Festival.
