BLUE SUN PALACE Wins French Touch Prize – Critics’ Week at Festival de Cannes 2024

BLUE SUN PALACE director Constance Tsang won the French Touch Prize for best first feature at La Semaine de la Critique – Critics’ Week – section of the 2024 Festival de Cannes.

This is the first year in which the French Touch award has been presented, with the aim “to shine a light on an act of cinema that features creativity and boldness”.

“Blue Sun Palace” follows two migrants in the Chinese community of Queens. After a tragedy, and far from home, their labor-filled lives intertwine as they grieve and search for familial connections.

Norm Li, CSC shot the film, which was also nominated for the Golden Camera and Critics’ Week Grand Prize awards.
